Welcome!
Since 1954, Kamloops United Church Preschool has been a major focus of outreach for Kamloops United Church.
The Goal of the Program is to provide affordable preschool/out-of-school care for any member of the Kamloops community.
- This is a non-profit, inter-denominational, multi-cultural, inclusive program dedicated to putting children first.
- We are a parent participation (grandparents count) preschool which allows parents to actively participate in their child’s educational process through a once-per-month opportunity to assist the educator. Playing and learning together at preschool is a great way to watch a child grow.
- Another aspect of the parent participation is the provision of free parent workshops on such topics as attachment issues, preschool nutrition, and multiple other parent needs as identified by parents or the educator.
History
In 1954 we opened as a kindergarten available to all residents of Kamloops. When kindergarten became part of the public school system, we became a parent participation preschool. An out-of- school program was added in 2002 to accommodate primarily Stuart Wood Elementary School students and their parents.

All activities provide opportunities for sensory stimulation and creative imagination. Imaginative thinking is encouraged in all aspects of the program.
