Opportunities for Standing with Ukraine
The following is from Dr. Oleksandr (Sasha) Kondrashov, who spoke at/with KUC during a worship service in March. At the end is information and links from the United Church of Canada.
If anyone is interested in Ukrainian Diaspora Studies courses, there are links below to some past lectures and a link to connect on every Saturday at 9:00 a.m. PT Thank you for Standing with Ukraine!
I am looking forward to seeing some of you on Zoom at 9:00 a.m. PT (every Saturday) as part of the Ukrainian Diaspora Studies Class: We will review new resources and initiatives to #StandwithUkraine in Canada and Abroad and have a healing circle where everyone can share how they are doing.
If you are in Kamloops and want to support local efforts we are gathering every Wednesday at 19:30 p.m. PT on Zoom. Wednesday gatherings are to plan local activities and build the resource database for #StandWithUkraine. Everyone can contribute a resource and help with the dissemination. I hope to start posting slides on Facebook soon: https://www.facebook.com/WorldStandWithUkraine.
If you are in Kamloops please attend weekly in-person gatherings at 3:00 p.m. PT every Saturday near City Hall. They are designed to support the local community (check your city for gatherings as they are happening all over Canada and globally). During the gathering we share information about local initiatives, support each other through conversation, and stand in solidarity with Ukraine. Everyone is welcome. Please check Kamloops Stand With Ukraine Facebook page for details: https://www.facebook.com/groups/3044969425818443
I post local and global updates on my networking page on Facebook too https://www.facebook.com/krasun
See you on Zoom or in person. Slava Ukrajini.
With respect, Dr. Oleksandr (Sasha) Kondrashov
PS: Here is an updated list of supports that the People of Kamloops and Area offered through the webform https://forms.gle/gdBDgSVjPCDAU8Ey7. I will keep collecting data and then share it with Kamloops Immigrant Services once the People of Ukraine will be coming through the new immigration stream created by CIC in March. Thank you all for sharing the resources. I also will start the form to collect requests for help in Kamloops and will be looking for ways how to connect those who are looking for support with those who can support. Ideas are welcome.
Thank you so much to all who wrote an e-mail, and apologies that I might not have responded to many of them at this time. I am overwhelmed with requests, and it will take me months to catch up. I appreciate your understanding as I am finding a new balance.
