Online Book Study ~ every Wednesday
Fairfield United Church in Victoria, BC is hosting an online book study centered on Letters to a Young Poet by Rainer Maria Rilke. The study will explore, Letters to a Young Poet who discusses God, life, love, suffering, and grief in a way that is surprisingly relevant for our time. Many of us over the last two years of uncertainty have felt a sense of loss and grief. We wonder how to move forward with hope and faith. Listening to a poetic voice might bring a fresh perspective.
An excerpt from the book:
“Live the questions now. Perhaps you then may gradually, without noticing, one day in the future, live into the answers. Perhaps you bear within yourself the capacity to imagine and shape a sacred way of life.” – Letters to a Young Poet by Rainer Maria Rilke, translated by Anita Barrows and Joanna Macy
The book study will be offered by Rev. Beth Walker, Lead Minister at Fairfield United on Wednesday evenings, 7 – 8 PM beginning January 26 to February 23 via Zoom.
