PMR: Holding Space with Indigenous Relations
From Pacific Mountain Region: An invitation from Mimi Smienk, serving Cape Mudge United on Quadra Island:
Walk with us to commemorate the 215 children found at Kamloops Indian Residential School. Tuesday, June 1 at 1pm. Meet at Quadra Island Elementary School. COVID protocols in place.
You’ll continue to hear from Indigenous and Non-Indigenous church leaders, see posts and invitations, reflections and prayers as our regional council, communities of faith and wider-United Church enter this next. As time moves forward, you might bookmark and spend time on the Indigenous Ministry page of our website, continue to participate in walks and vigils happening near to you (or far, attending in spirit), and wear orange. You might find ways to revere the number 215 (a donation of $215 to a group who supports Indian Residential School Survivors, 215 hours of vigil or an art work or prayer practice, or set an intention for the remaining 213 days of this year + 2) in our commitment to stay present and act on the Calls of the Church.
