This Sunday we celebrate Epiphany. This is the Sunday when we think of the magi coming to worship Jesus. It is the start of the Epiphany season which lasts until February 17 when we begin Lent with Ash Wednesday.
We will be celebrating communion, so you might like to participate in the service by having something to eat and something to drink prepared for the sacrament.
We are beginning a new worship series entitled, “God is Holding Your Life.” In these times of pandemic and uncertainty and concerns for health, we all need to be reminded that God is holding each and every one of us.
Last fall, a number of people from the Council Circle and the Worship Committee of KUC took a course called, “Reboot Your Worship” put on by the Worship Design Studio of California. We were all impressed with the material covered. Our theme for Epiphany, “God is Holding Your Life” is drawn from the Worship Design Material. This Sunday’s service will be focussing on Psalm 72 which is known as the “Royal Psalm”. It talks about the qualities of a good and wise ruler. The sermon title is, “In God’s Hands.”
Tomas Bijok will be providing music. On Eagle’s Wings and Great is thy faithfulness are two of the pieces we will be singing.
