Virtual Worship Sun.Sept.27th
Join us this Sunday for the livestream of our worship service. Go to the Kamloops United Church YouTube Channel. To access the livestream of this week’s service, please go to Worship – Sunday September 27, 2020 and click on the service.
This Sunday, September 27, the sermon title is ” But by the Grace of God“. The Scripture passage from Exodus 17 continues the story of the Israelites wandering in the wilderness after they have crossed the Red Sea. The scriptures for this Sunday seems to repeat the theme of last Sunday when God gave manna or bread, only this Sunday, Moses strikes a rock and water gushes forth. Again, the Scripture talks about God providing. In the sermon we will consider how God provides grace and how we respond to it. Sermon September 27, 2020
This Sunday is also Orange Shirt Sunday. “The annual Orange Shirt Day on September 30th opens the door to global conversation on all aspects of Residential Schools. It is an opportunity to create meaningful discussion about the effects of Residential Schools and the legacy they have left behind. A discussion all Canadians can tune into and create bridges with each other for reconciliation. A day for survivors to be reaffirmed that they matter, and so do those that have been affected. Every Child Matters, even if they are an adult, from now on.” orangeshirtday.org Members of the Kamloops Untied Church REC (Reconciliation Committee) will be assisting in worship. If you want to join us in solidarity, wear an orange shirt as you watch the service.
This Sunday, we will be live streaming at 10 am from the newly renovated church sanctuary. Thank you to everyone who is making these services possible. The learning curve to live steam from the church has been a steep one, but everyone rose to the occasion.
This Sunday, Tomas Bijok, Kamloops United Music Director will be leading us in music. He will be joined by solist, Rachel Casponi, a former Kamloops United Church Music Director.
Every Sunday this month, join us at Stuart Woods school yard at noon for a social time. Bring your chair, lunch and something to drink. The school is located St. Paul and Third.
