Notes on Re-Opening
We will return to Worship in our building on October 4th and I am in the process of writing a plan for our return. On my desktop at the moment I have specific plans and training documents in process for Staff, Worship volunteers, Thrift Shop and the overall COVID safety plan.
The final installation of the sound equipment will be installed which will be an exciting new learning curve and we will need training and documentation for that as well. Going forward we will always live stream worship.
It is my goal to be ahead of the curve. These tasks are quite numerous and there is no precedent here at KUC. There are lots of resources that I am leaning on and working hard to get all the ducks in a row in a way that serves us specifically.
Here is the plan:
September 10 – New staff orientation and training (for staff only).
September 13 – Covid 19 Safety plan will be included in the eNews (this is required by Work BC).
September 20 – The eNews will include a focus on Risk Assessment. This will provide tools that you can use to decide if returning to worship is a good idea for you.
September 23 at 1:00 PM – We will have training at KUC for those who will be involved in the worship service, and anyone helping on a Sunday morning. If you are interested in attending please let you team captain know or email your interest to Florence admin@kamloopsunited.ca.
September 24 at 1:00 PM – Thrift Shop Volunteer Covid Training. All communication about this will be emailed to the volunteers directly. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer please email Florence admin@kamloopsunited.ca.
September 27 – How to deal with Hugs in the eNews!!! We have a plan, this will be fun.
October 4 – In person worship. By this point we will all be ready and every one will know how to approach the building and what to do when we are here. It is important to remember that worship will also be online so there is no pressure to attend. It is your choice!
Beginning after Thanksgiving (and over the next two months) there will be a phased in plan for KUC groups and outside user groups.
Our goal is to go overboard on your safety!
