Minister’s Message Sept.6
As summer winds down, it seems as if things in the church office are winding up in preparation for the fall. There are a number of exciting changes at KUC.
First, next week we welcome two new staff members, Tomas Bijok and Dan Hines. (You can read about them below.) Tomas joins us as music director and Dan as spiritual coordinator. I am very much looking forward to working with them as their share their gifts and talents with our congregation.
On September 13, we hope to begin live-streaming the worship services from the sanctuary. Most of the renovations of the sanctuary should be completed, including the construction of a new front, greater accessibility, new paint, new sound system and new equipment for live-streaming. A word of thanks to all those who, during the summer, have been working so hard in the sanctuary. It seems exciting at this time to have a fresh worship space. Of course, we look forward to having a small congregation join us for worship on October 4 and Florence will be providing more details about this over the next few weeks.
I would ask you to keep all the KUC staff in your prayers at this time as we seek to cautiously re-open parts of our church over the next few months. It requires a great deal of planning and preparation to ensure that we do things as safely as possible.
Blessings for this holiday weekend,
Michael.
