Honouring Indigenous Children Orange Shirt Day Sept.30
On Wed. Sept. 30th, people all across Canada will wear orange shirts to remember and honour Indigenous children who attended Residential Schools. Along with the National Church, KUC’s Reconciliation Exploration Circle group is encouraging everyone to participate by wearing orange shirts.
Virtual Orange Shirt Day Event
On September 30th, Orange Shirt Day, there will be a virtual event hosted on by the National Centre for Truth and Reconcilliation open to all Canadian schools. The event is designed for students in Grades 5 through 12, and provides an opportunity to learn first hand from Residential School Survivors, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, artists and leaders from nations and cultures across the country. Educators can select the events they wish to livestream for their students and download free educational resources.
