Have you ever wondered, when reading something Jesus said in the Bible, whether Jesus was really serious about what he was saying? Surely some of the demands of Jesus are either impossible or impractical, especially in today’s modern world. In this week’s sermon, we examine how, in light of Jesus’ teachings, we examine the signs of the times that we are living in. The sermon is based on the theologian Karl Barth’s saying that “the Christian reads the Bible with the newspaper in the other hand.”
Cindy Darwin will be singing and Gordon Britton will be playing the organ. The prelude is Pachelbel’s “Fantasia” and the postlude is “Recessional March” by Nichol.
