Serve the Pacific Mountain Regional Council as a Volunteer
Serve the Pacific Mountain Regional Council
The PMRC Nominations Committee invited you to nominate yourself or others to the volunteer driven Councils and Working Groups (clusters) of our Regional Council! You are warmly invited to bring fresh consideration to how you support the work of the church as an active member in our Pacific Mountain Regional Council setting.
The Nominations Committee, Working Groups, and Councils rely on the wisdom that a diverse group of people bring to them. It’s our hope that you’ll help express this invitation to people in your community of faith, and consider how you might be involved too, keeping in mind:
When we think of ‘diversity’ we think in terms of racial and ethnic background, gender identity, sexual orientation, physical abilities, geographical location, vocation or economic status, age and life experience because our church is committed to proactively addressing inequities and historic patterns of exclusion.
When we think of ‘nomination‘, we know that some feel they are answering a spiritual call when they apply for these volunteer roles; others are identified by friends and colleagues who recognize that their abilities are just what the church needs.
If you know someone who should be considered, or if you want to lend your own unique talents to the church, please send this page along to them, or apply yourself at this link here: PMRC Nominations Application Form.

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST – CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
Deadline: July 31, 2020
The Pacific Mountain Region of The United Church of Canada is constructing new affordable housing units in a number of areas, funded by BC Housing. We are well underway in our planning for several other sites and have a vision of a growing portfolio of such sites across the province.
As the governance of this ministry continues to be established we are looking for experienced, dedicated people to serve as Directors on the Board of the Three-Point Housing Society which builds and operates the affordable housing units.
This is already a $250 million venture; that will only grow over the next few years.
Perhaps you, or someone you know, might feel called to offer experience and work to this project. Please take a look at the attached Call for Nominations … and, for sure, pass it on to other individuals and/or groups you think might be interested.
While it is desirable that the Directors are familiar with the United Church, it is not necessary. This work needs people who have expertise and experience in many different fields and with many different backgrounds.
3) PMRC Executive Member
Apply here: PMRC Nominations Application Form.
The Pacific Mountain Regional Council is seeking a member to join its Executive. As part of our commitment to include people whose voices offer a different perspective, at this time we are specifically seeking someone who brings the lived experience of being racialized or who is a member from a migrating community.
The PMRC Policy regarding Executive Membership is linked here for reference.
The term of this appointment will be 2020-2023.
4) Lay Leadership Committee

Pacific Mountain Region is recruiting members for its Lay Leadership Committee. We are seeking individuals who are invested in the development and support of lay leaders, who recognize the vital role of gifted and committed lay ministry and are interested in building leadership capacity to support communities of faith into the future.
While continuing to support Licensed Lay Worship Leaders and Sacraments Elders the committee has an expanded mandate to include the diverse forms of lay leadership expressed in communities of faith.
