* The following quote is from St. Paul’s United Church in Edmonton, from August 2019 when Murray was welcomed to their pulpit.
“Murray is a student at the Vancouver School of Theology, in his final year of studies in the Master of Divinity program through the Native Ministries program at UBC. He also attends the Sandy Saulteaux Spiritual Centre for Native Ministries in Beausejour, Manitoba. Murray is Cree from the Goodfish Lake and Saddle Lake First Nations in central Alberta.
He is a direct descendant, fourth generation, of the Rev. Henry Bird Steinhauer. Murray believes in connection and respecting all paths of spirituality and honouring each other with our gifts. As he remembers his life journey, he is always reminded of the gift his grandparents left him, the gift of prayer, a blessed gift that unites all peoples together in love.
