Orange Shirt Day at KUC
September 29th, a day to reflect and remember residential schools and take time to really think about what the symbol of the orange shirt is about. This is the time of year when indigenous children were taken from their homes to residential schools. Even the clothes the children were wearing were taken from them. It was very special to hear artist Mike Alexander share his own personal story of “the Scoop” and to share his vision when he created these beautiful shirts.
