KUC’s “Reconciliation Exploration Circle” invites you to meet at the church on Saturday, August 3rd and carpool to the powwow grounds. There is a signup sheet available on Sundays after worship. The time(s) will be decided by those interested in going together.
Here’s some more about the powwow:
The 40th Annual Kamloopa Powwow, is from August 2-4, 2019.
“Around a thousand dancers and many more spectators will be in Kamloops for the annual Kamloopa Powwow, one of the largest celebrations of First Nations’ culture and heritage in Western Canada!
The Powwow is a spectacular expression of the Secwepemc people’s heritage and is a vibrant display of storytelling, song, and dance in traditional regalia. “
R.E.C. thought it would be fun for KUC folk to go to the Powwow together, so we’re planning to attend Saturday, Aug. 3rd. If anyone would like a ride, or to car pool, we’ll meet at the church first. We’ve yet to decide on a time, so please speak to Diane or Patricia with your suggestion of timing that suits you. (You can call the church office for Diane or Patricia’s phone number or email address.)
There’s lots of info on the internet if you’d like to see the schedule or learn more about the Kamloopa Powwow.
We hope you’ll join us! (Or attend on your own and maybe we’ll see you there.)
