KUC, a Centre for Community and Spiritual Discovery, invites you to a “public forum on Privilege, Saturday, Nov. 10th from 1 pm to 4 pm.
The keynote speaker is The Very Rev. Dr. Bill Phipps, former Moderator of the United Church, who was central in the United Church’s apology for residential schools.
Bill Sundhu, a Human Rights Lawyer and former Judge, will be the moderator for the afternoon’s discussion with a panel representing some of the diversity of our community.
Panelists are (in alpha order): Aaron Sumexheltza, Chief of the Lower Nicola Indian Band; Sam Numsen, board member Kamloops Pride; Jessica Vliegenthart, lawyer, Team Canada Wheelchair Basketball, Disability Advocate; and Michele Walker, General Manager, Violence Against Women, Intervention and Support Services Kamloops Y.
