For the third year in a row, the United Steelworkers Kamloops locals made the PIT Stop Thanksgiving dinner. It was over the moon, with 304 fantastic served meals of turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, veggies and salad.
As well, each of our guests took with them a bagged turkey sandwich, juice, fruit roll and cookies – all of this possible because of the sincere and heartfelt generosity of these amazing and wonderful members of our community.
And they paid for the day, too!
The United Steelworkers tradition of Thanksgiving at PIT Stop blessed our KUC hall on Thanksgiving Sunday.
Very well done by all the families who worked so hard today! Thanks to team leader Tara, her team and all the helpers!
PIT Stop Coordinator Rick wrote: “I truly, truly appreciate the tradition of Thanksgiving with the Steelworkers locals. PIT Stop is very blessed to have all of you and your commitment, work ethic, compassion, and loving spirit. …. I especially adore having all the kids and young adults come out to help with their families. It’s an amazing real life experience for sure – something that will hopefully be their tradition as well.”
