Did you know that the minutes of Council Circle meetings are posted on the bulletin board located in the main floor hall way? Since minutes have to be “adopted as read”, the posted minutes are always one month behind until the next Council meeting.
We are hoping to release the Objectives and Goals for Kamloops United for the coming year after the November 21st council meeting.
The kick off for the Fall season has been amazing with Ralph Milton’s StoryFest followed one week later by the What it Means to be Affirming workshop with Allison Rennie. The events were rich in content, engaging and fun and altogether wonderful, and the worship services the following days were special. Thank you to everyone who helped to make these events possible. Discovery Circle has more events planned for the coming months that you won’t want to miss. November will lead off with another Community Soup & Sandwich luncheon, the annual UCW Fall Fair, a Labyrinth Walk, Jazz Vespers and more….
In addition to these events Kamloops United Church ~ A Centre for Community and Spiritual Discovery is also coming alive for us with new groups and community programs sharing our space, and our wonderful staff and volunteers who make it all possible. Administrative Manager Florence Ballard is “making all things possible” with her engaging and creative problem solving skills and ideas. Recently Florence has arranged catered lunches available at reasonable cost (by donation) for the special events. Council Circle recognizes that it is possible to share the spirit of hospitality by offering simpler solutions that can enhance our people resources and energies.
The StewardshipTeam have requested that all KUC ministry groups submit their budgets for next year by November 15 to the Administrative Manager. This earlier deadline will provide more time to fine tune the budget.
The following people serve on Council: Marnie Strong, Chair; Chris Dolson, Vice Chair; Sue Sewell, Secretary;
Gail Wichmann, Treasurer; Members-at-large, Becky Geeson, Anne Brogden and Jan Vint; Ministry&Personnel, Karen McClelland, Marcia Julian; Presbytery Representatives Carol Hutchings and Maia Walker. Rev. Bruce Comrie and Administrative Manager Florence Ballard also part of Council).
We really like to hear from you! Please bring your questions, concerns and compliments to any of these folks.
Marnie Strong, Chair of Council Circle
