People of all faiths have reached out to their Muslim neighbours in the wake of the fatal shootings at a Quebec City mosque on Sunday night.
Faisal Siddiqui, president of the Kamloops Islamic Association, said his community “is in shock since we have heard of recent attacks on places of worship and their attendees.”
“In particular, the event in Quebec is very difficult to believe that such an odium exists in our beloved country of Canada.”
On Friday, Feb. 3, at the end of the noon service at the Ayesha Mosque in Knutsford, a session will be held to offer prayers for the victims and their families. It’s expected to begin at about 1:00 p.m. and anyone can attend.
The mosque is at 2805 Highway 5A South.
