Hello Friends of PIT Stop:
Our annual Christmas Dinner at PIT Stop is coming up soon, and we are expecting more guests than ever. As always, we want to try to make this Dinner as special and fulfilling as possible for all our guests. It has become a tradition with both the Rotary Daybreak team and our guests to look forward to Santa being there, live music and a warm, safe and happy afternoon with an incredible meal.
I’m attaching some information about the type of things that we will be needing this year. We have made some space available at the church for all of the generous donations, and if you are able to bring them there, it would be great. However, if you need anything picked up, please message me at firstname.lastname@example.org, and I will make arrangements. (Or phone Kamloops United Church during office hours at 250-372-3020.)
We will be making gift bags for adult males, adult females, teens/adolescents, toddlers and babies. Please let me know if you have any questions. I also will update you as we move along if there may be additional needs that we have. We are hoping to make about 250 gift bags.
We are asking for your help to make this happen through your kind donations which could include the following:
* Gloves and / or mitts * Winter hats / scarves
* Wash cloth / hand towel * Warm socks
* Underwear / long underwear * Pocket tissues/ toilet tissue rolls
* Disposable razors * Comb and/or hairbrush
* Small toiletries such as bar soap, shampoo, conditioner
* Personal size hand antiseptic alcohol free
* Lip balm * Small box chocolates
* Packages of hot chocolate * Pet treats
* Baby wipes / diapers / powdered formula
* Christmas candies * Cloth shopping bags
Please bring items to the Kamloops United Church office, 421 St. Paul St. by Thursday, December 8, 2016.
As well, we welcome your donations of clothing, coats, jackets, shoes, boots, socks, sweaters, back packs, blankets, sleeping bags, etc.
We will continue to try to help our guests by making these items available past the Christmas Season and on into the cold months of January and February.
If you prefer to make a cash donation, tax receipts are available. Those funds will purchase these or additional items for PIT Stop guests and families.
Many Thanks Rick W. P.I.T. Stop Coordinator
