On this Welcome and Affirm Sunday, we shared the story of Kamloops United Church’s history in becoming an affirming and inclusive congregation. The story dates back to the late 1980’s  when a dedicated group of people worked through the process of becoming a designated Affirming Church which happened May 12, 1996.  Chris Dolson presented the history as part of the Reflection time. Rev. Bruce Comrie spoke of “moving fences”, “outside the box”, Jesus’ radical love and hope, faith, love and inclusion of all people which are embraced by the colours of the rainbow.  Along with the Renewal of Baptismal Faith, and the Transfer of Memberships to Kamloops United Church, “Amazing Grace” was sung by Max Aranguniz-Peterson and Jeanne Rodrigue.
