Discovery Circle has invited Cathie Yingling to organize the Resource Centre for our church. Cathie worked in the Audio Visual Library at BC Conference for eight years. She has also volunteered over the years at the Conference and National level giving her experience with finding church resources. As Cathie is a recent member of Kamloops United Church and not familiar with the needs of individual K.U.C. folk or the many ministry groups of K.U.C., she would like assistance and suggestions about what you or your group may require in informational, learning or spiritual resources. Cathie would be happy to meet you after church, or can be reached at the e-mail address below.
The Vision for the Resource Centre is to provide resources for all members and groups in the church to facilitate members in their work and personal journeys. To accomplish the goal of making the Resource Centre as useful as possible, we need to hear from you to find out what information is most helpful. More than a library (but that too), we will have access to resources through on-line, digital and audio-visual resources, as we are able to set them up—but what else do you need? Where do you currently get information? Again, please tell Cathie to help us achieve our goal.
The Resource Centre will also provide a smaller room for meetings and training smaller groups. For more informal seekers comfort, we could use some extra furnishings; we would like to have a small round coffee-style table for a quiet corner seating place. If you have a nice little table you’re not using, let Cathie know. Thank you. We hope to be able to maintain someone at the Centre 1-2 days a week and of course you can access the Resource Centre through the reception volunteers or front office staff at other times.
Please visit Cathie after church or e-mail her via KUC@shaw.ca or email@example.com
