Reverend Elaine Diggle led the service today. The focus of the service was to further our understanding of the importance of prayer.
* Mahatma Gandhi, 20th C: “Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul.
It is a daily admission of one’s weakness. It is better in prayer to have a
heart without words than words without a heart.”
* Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet, 20th C:”You pray in your distress and in your
need; would that you might pray also in the fullness of your joy and in
your days of abundance.”
* Soren Kierkegaard,, 19th C: “Prayer does not change God, but it changes
the one who prays.”
