A few of us participated in the “Wild Salmon Caravan” procession as it stopped in Kamloops today. We were treated to drumming, song, sacred smudging and a circle gathering at Riverside before a parade downtown. Afterwards we were treated to an absolutely sumptuous feast at the Tk”emlups Pow Wow grounds. There was music, good company and inspirational speeches. Aboriginal traditional food security is of great importance and we heard of concerns for the future if things remain the same. This was a different kind of “reconciliation” event. Reconciliation with creation, the earth and all that God has created.
You can see that we had some time for fun too!
