This is a note to invite you to an exciting event we are hosting at the camp this spring! On the weekend of May 14th, we are hosting the Cabin Challenge, an event to get our cabins looking their very best. The cabins haven’t received any TLC in a while, so we’re painting them a vibrant shade of green with white trim around doors and windows. Some of the cabins might also need a stair or two to be built off the front decks. Several groups have already come forward to “sponsor” cabins, and we are looking to form an elite squad to do a make-over on one (possibly two) of the remaining cabins.
This is a “bring the whole family” type of event. You can come for the entire weekend, or some folks can show up for just Saturday or just Sunday. If you plan to stay overnight, you can either stay in the cabins or there’s plenty of room for tents and trailers. If we make short work of the painting, people are invited to enjoy a hike, play on the beach and/or participate in a fun game we call… “clean up in the forest.” During this game, participants can build large “magical fairy castles” in the forest. Some “non-believers” might think these castles look like random piles of branches and logs, but I say “NO.” These mystical castles play host to the “camping fairies” through the summer until later in the fall, at which point they will be set on fire (not the fairies) during a “fairy migration celebration.” Many hot dogs and marshmallows will be sacrificed (in the fairies’ honor of course) during this truly uplifting event!
