Reply to Global about Trans-Himalayan Aid Society Donation.
In 2014, the Advent Tree had as one of its recipients the Trans Himalayan Aid Society, which was working with a local organization to provide support and housing for abused women. As part of that initiative, Paul and Donna Bishop from Kamloops travelled to India to work on this project. They have now returned and below is their note about their trip and how our funds were used.
Hello friends at KUC.
Paul and I are back from our wonderful trip to India, helping to build the Shelter for Women and Children. It was so fulfilling to see this dream realized, both for us, and for the amazing Vimarsh workers in India! Two floors are now almost complete and by Spring, the first people in need of shelter will be arriving, and as well, Vimarsh will be using the resource for teaching, health programs, sheltering children in need of protection from violence, child labour, etc. Again, thank-you so much for your donation and sponsorship of this build. Every penny you donated went towards building supplies. Donna Bishop
