Hear them ring!
Rev.Don Waldon (minister emeritus) welcomed those who gathered at KUC to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the official beginning of the United Church of Canada. To mark the occasion, congregations had been invited to celebrate their presence in the community by ringing their church bells 90 times. The time set for the bell ringing, 10:30 a.m., was the same in all time zones. This time was chosen because the inaugural service celebrating the formation of The United Church of Canada on June 10, 1925, began at 10:30 a.m. By coincidence, June 10 that year was also a Wednesday. The fact that KUC does not have “a church bell” was no deterrent to the enthusiastic group who gathered to hear 6 Handbell Ringers ring out the 90 years.

After a few words about the United Church, the bells rang out, then folk moved indoors for “anniversary cake” and visiting.
