June 21, 2015 Worship
This Sunday was our “BC Conference report Sunday” and it was Aboriginal Sunday.
Today was also a time to celebrate Maia Walker‘s soon-to-be pilgrimage across Canada to Corner Brook, Newfoundland, where she will participate in the United Church’s national gathering (General Council), along with Kathy Johnson (BC Conference’s elected representative) who will fly to attend the gc42 (42nd general council) meeting in early August. Both were fetted with prayer shawls and bookmarks (matching mini prayer shawls) and “pilgrimage crosses”. The shawls and bookmarks were created by Corrine Taylor and the wooden pilgrimage crosses were handmade by Don Waldon.
The Prayer Shawl group also gifted a shawl to Rev. Bruce Comrie today. This shawl was made by Marilyn Lumsden.

This worship bulletin includes the words of the “Secwepemc Prayer” and the Moderator’s prayer being prayed around the country today as a result of the shooting at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina.
