This eight week course is Monday evenings, through to December 8 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall. It began last Monday, and is open to the public.
Spirituality through Scripture utilizes contemporary books, biblical texts, handouts by the leader, and sharing of personal experience by group members to aid participants in spiritual growth.
The first hour of each weekly session is a time of “checking in,” of personal story telling, reflections on the past week, listening, responding, and building community. In the second hour the issues specifically raised in the readings are discussed.
The leader is a retired UBC Faculty of Arts professor of Religious Studies, Chuck Anderson. His specialties were world religions and the origins of Christianity.
Those who wish to attend are asked to send an email to Chuck Anderson (email@example.com). ALL ARE WELCOME!
Cost: $10 plus the cost of the book by Harold S. Kushner, When Bad Things Happen to Good People (obtainable from Chuck Anderson), also $10.
If you wish to join this group (Monday, Oct. 27th is their second gathering), please contact Chuck (firstname.lastname@example.org).
