Greetings, KUC Folk (From Rev. Teri).
As you know, KUC is hosting the Kamloops Okanagan Presbytery Youth Council’s Annual Youth Retreat, April 4-6. And I am providing music leadership through this event. Part of our host responsibilities is providing meals for the youth coming to the event, and a wrap up Soup and Bun lunch shared with the host congregation on Sunday after church.
Although youth participants have been asked to bring 1 dozen cookies/squares with them, we are helping out with the healthy alternatives (and treats if you choose – they won’t say, “no”). Youth are expected to help with meal clean up and dishes, but we need to prepare snacks and meals.
Included with this email is the most recent sign up sheet for meal coordinators, helpers and shoppers. We are still looking for someone to coordinate the Friday night snack prepping team (of 3) who are meeting at 6pm Friday night. We are still looking for a Soup and Bun Luncheon coordinator for Sunday morning.
Please look through the meals and menu items and fill in what you can offer in time and energy, what you can purchase for reimbursement (keep your receipts and give to Rev. Teri on Sunday), or to donate to the event. Re-save the document and then send it back to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you don’t see your name listed as a coordinator and helper and you thought you were; or, if you are interested in helping somewhere and didn’t catch me after church, please sign up in the preferred meal category (meal) – and then make sure your corresponding Coordinator knows to expect you.
Currently, we have around 45 youth registered for the event April 4-6. For Sunday after church, we have a promise of leftover WednesdaySoup sale soups (if there is any leftover); and I have asked Plura Hill and Mt. Paul United Churches to see if they can offer any soup making teams to add to our efforts. Leftover fruit and veggie trays, wraps and wrap fillings will be available as well. We just need someone to coordinate the meal…
Coordinators (God Bless you!!!): Bill White (Saturday Breakfast); June Routledge (Saturday Lunch); Rose Soneff (Sunday Dinner and Dance Snack); Marg Waldon (Sunday Breakfast). If you want to help, contact your meal Coordinator directly, please. If you plan on purchasing ingredients for a specific meal, contact that COORDINATOR to let them know. That way you can connect ahead of time to make sure when to meet and if you need to do any pre-prepping/cooking before the weekend; any shopping.
I am asking people to bring dry ingredients to the church by Thursday night. All other items to the church by Friday – and let the coordinator know too.
Again, donations of food items gratefully accepted. What isn’t donated, KEEP the RECEIPTS and Youth Council will reimburse you – put your name on the receipts and give to Rev. Teri on Sunday (she will give to the KOP Youth Council Coordinator).
I will be out of town at a Conference workshop/meeting Monday to Wednesday – but I’ll be checking email and my cell phone messages (250-572-4676). I’ll be in my office on Thursday. Remember – fill out the form, re-save and reply all.

And remember to breathe. I found a magnet the other day that I had to buy. “Whenever I am feeling blue, I remember to breathe.”
Peace, All. Rev. Teri
Thank you. Muchas Gracias. Merci. Bon apetite.
