The Food Safe Basic Level One course will be offered Saturday, March 1, 2014 from 9 am to 5 pm at Kamloops United Church with twenty spaces available for PIT Stop Leaders, their team members, or anyone from our Spares list. The Food Safe Certificate is registered with Interior Health once the participant passes the 50 question multiple choice exam by 70% at the end of the course. If room is available, non profit organizations involved in food programs are offered the remaining spaces.
The cost is $25/person which covers the workbook, registration of the certificate with Interior Health, refreshments and Teaching Material. Cheques can be written to Kamloops United Church or cash is also accepted for payment. (The cost is usually $75 to $100 per person from other instructors. Rose Soneff donates her time to teach the course for PIT Stop.)
The certificates are valid for 5 years after issue. Anyone who obtained a FS Level 1 certificate prior to July 2013, must renew after 2018 to be valid via an online refresher course.
If you are interested in taking the course, or have questions, please contact Rose through the church office. The deadline to register is FRIDAY, FEB. 14, 3 PM, to allow sufficient time to order workbooks. Participants should bring their own lunch.
