The church season of Lent is a time to examine our faith, our actions, our commitment and our discipleship as Christians and followers of Jesus Christ. In 2013 two churches in the Lower Mainland introduced the Lenten Challenge to their congregants. The Lenten Challenge has a personal workbook that provides a scripture reading, a thought, some questions for reflection and a prayer for each of the 40 days of Lent. In addition, the workbook includes questions on one’s preparation for and experience of worship on each of the 6 Sundays of Lent. The Faith Formation Team is proposing that KUC undertake this Lenten Challenge for this coming Lent. These are personal studies to help individuals deepen their faith and their relationship with God. The cost for the workbook is $5, and workbooks will be available in the hall after worship from February 23rd. Think about how you wish to approach Lent this year. In the churches which undertook this study, the participants were very enthusiastic and wondered if more resources could made available to them. Think about it! How is your faith? Do you want to undertake the Lenten Challenge this year?
