What does it mean today to say that one is “spiritual but not religious”? Or, perhaps you consider yourself to be “spiritual and religious”? Best-selling author, speaker and scholar Diana Butler Bass explores these questions as she looks at what Christianity may look like “beyond religion and beyond the church”.
You are invited to explore these questions and others in a five session study at KUC. During each session we will view a DVD where Diana will offer teaching and engage us in discussing where the Spirit is moving these days – within and beyond the church. Also, each participant will make use of an Embracing Spiritual Awakening workbook. The workbook, written by Tim Scorer in collaboration with Diana Butler Bass, will give guidance to our discussion.
Tim is a former staff member of Naramata Centre and is an educator, writer and facilitator living near Vancouver.
As KUC moves toward being a “centre for spiritual growth”, this study provides an important and valuable perspective about how to get there. Those who call KUC home are encouraged to attend. Also, invite your friends and neighbours who may be interested. All are welcome.
Each of the five weekly sessions will be offered twice a week – Tuesday afternoons or Wednesday evenings. You choose the day and time that works best for you each week.
