On December 7, Kamloops United Church hosted a Camp Grafton Christmas
Celebration. Nearly 40 children, youth, young adults, leaders and parents
sang Christmas and camp fire songs; shared stories about their lives since
their summer at Camp Grafton; laughed lots; drank hot chocolate; and ate
cookies and oranges. Unanimously, the biggest thing missed about camp:
The celebration began with singing “Fires Burning” around flickering candle
light and wrapped up by singing the usual Camp Fire closing numbers:
“Friends are Something when they ______ together”, and “Day is Done”.
KUC and members of the Camp Grafton Society are hoping that January’s Camp
Grafton New Year Reunion, to be held on Friday, January 17 from 6:30-8PM will be
as much fun for everyone who comes out. Weather permitting, we may even be
able to throw in a wide game of sorts, along with another campfire-esque
