Meditation for Personal Preparation:
“The ‘kingdom of Heaven’ is a condition of the heart – not something that comes ‘upon the earth’ or ‘after death.’” ~ Friedrich Nietzsche
“Let us more and more insist on raising funds of love, of kindness, of understanding, of peace. Money will come if we seek first the Kingdom of God – the rest will be given.” ~ Mother Teresa
“The doctrine of the Kingdom of Heaven, which was the main teaching of Jesus, is certainly one of the most revolutionary doctrines that ever stirred and changed human thought.” ~ H. G. Wells
“If you have not chosen the Kingdom of God first, it will in the end make no difference what you have chosen instead.” ~ William Law
WE GATHER AS PEOPLE OF GOD
Hymn Sing and Welcome
Lighting the Christ Candle and Presenting our Prayers with Harmony in Hand playing, “A Round of Praise” ~ Michael Helman
Gathering & Opening Prayer:
Together, we stand at the edge of the Christian year overlooking God’s realm:
A realm of justice and peace;
of forgiveness and reconciliation;
of invitation and welcome;
of healing and encouragement;
of equity and compassion.
We look back and see a year filled with change; marked by transition.
We’ve welcomed and adjusted;
Torn down and built up;
grieved and celebrated.
And in the midst of it all, as we ask to bless it all,
God, Christ and the Sacred Spirit has been, will be, and IS with us, always.
And through this service of song, story and prayer, may the realm of God be made real in our hearts. And the people say, Amen.
* Song of Praise: VU#87 “I AM the Light of the World”
Prayer for Healing & Renewal:
O Cosmic Christ, Light of the World, The Compassionate Way,
when we fail to act as though we are first and foremost citizens of the Realm of God,
When we care more about our financial well-being than our spiritual well-being,
When we choose to live in the shadows we know rather than the light we are,
When we live as though heaven is yet to come rather than here right now,
When we fail to honour and respect the whole of your Creation,
When we commit ourselves to negative thoughts and actions,
When we keep ourselves too busy to care for ourselves and others lovingly,
When our stature matters more than your place in the world,
Take us, shape us; challenge us; nurture us; love us into the people, the community, the realm you would have us be – through Christ, with Christ and in Christ.
Sung Response: MV#85 “Take, O, Take Me as I Am” (x3)
Take, O take me as I am; summon out what I shall be;
Set your seal upon my heart and live in me.
Affirmation of God’s Grace:
God knows us and God still loves us. God has already forgiven us; let’s forgive ourselves and others. Let Grace be our way as it is the way of Christ. Thanks be to God. Amen!
WE LISTEN FOR GOD’S LIVING WORD
Family Story Time: “It’s too Over-Realming”
I affirm that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to God Our Creator, Ground of Being;
Christ Jesus; and the Holy Spirit, and that I will faithfully observe the laws of God’s Realm
and fulfil my duties as a Christian, as a Child of God, citizen of Heaven.

Presentation of Our Gifts with the Folk of Note Anthem:
Let us now prepare the work of our hands for the life of this church and God’s Church in the world.
The offering shall now be received.
*Presentation Song: VU#510 “We Have This Ministry” vs.2-3
O Christ, the tree of life, our end and our beginning,
we grow to fullest flower when rooted in your love.
Brothers, sisters, clergy, lay, called to service by your grace,
different cultures, different gifts, the young and old a place.
We have this ministry, O God, receive our giving.
The yoke of Christ is ours, the whole world is our parish;
we daily take the cross, the burden and the joy.
Bearing hurts of those we serve, wounded, bruised and bowed with pain,
Holy Spirit, bread and wine, we die and rise again.
We have this ministry, O God, receive our loving.
*Prayer of Thanksgiving and Dedication:
God bless these gifts that we bring to you. Bless the gifts that we are because of you. Bless it all so that in every way we give of ourselves and our resources, your equitable, loving and healing realm may be known south and north, west and east and every place in between. May people from all over the world rush to the gates that are always open, inhabit the realm that has no walls – for there is nothing to fear; and everything and everyone to love. And God’s people say, Amen.
*Hymn of Thanksgiving: “Go to the World”
Go to the world! Go into all the earth.
Go preach God’s love* where Christ renews life’s worth,
Baptising as the sign o-f our rebirth.
Refrain: Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Go to the world! Go into every place.
Go live the Word of God’s redeeming grace.
Go seek God’s pre–sence in each time and space.
Go to the world! Go struggle bless and pray;
the nights of tears give way to joyous day.
As servant Ch–urch, you follow Christ’s own way.
*Go to the world! Go with forgiving hearts;
No fear will hold what love released to stars.
From Light’s embra-ce we shall never part.
*Go to the world! The Spirit’s gifts are yours;
Share them with joy to open up closed doors.
Cherish each and all of us as Children of the Lord.
Go to the World! Go as the ones I send,
For I am with you ‘til the age shall end,
When all the ho–sts of glory cry “Amen!”
