Rose Soneff received the following message from Mary Hensley of “Eighth Wonder” regarding the “Fair Trade Rice Farmers” in the Philippines supported by KUC.
“I have spoken with Vicky (Garcia, of RICE Inc) several times over the weekend when she had power and internet access. She and her family are fine and the farmers further north experienced a strong storm but certainly not the damage on the scale of the central Philippines. Even in Cavite where Vicky lives, the winds were howling with driving rain. She said that it was a terrifying experience to be in her house alone but at least, for her, her house survived the storm.”
“It is so hard fathom such destruction on such a large scale. But the outpouring of generosity by people from around the world during such times of calamity is a true sign that people care. One of the many things that keeps me hopeful. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers, Mary Hensley.”
Rose Soneff’s family is fine and was north of the storm, in Luzon.
“Many thanks for all your prayers, Rose”
