A heartfelt thank you to Kamloops United Church for hosting the 2013 Kamloops-Okanagan Presbytery’s Camping Season’s “Faith Formation Training for Camp Leaders” weekend, June 8-9. Camp Staff and Directors from Camps Hulburt (near Vernon), Mackenzie (on Mable Lake, east of Enderby), and our own Camp Grafton, attended this annual training event. All feedback from the weekend has been overwhelmingly positive. And for the first time, the training ran from Saturday to Sunday, rather than Friday to Saturday, allowing the Camp Leaders to put their Faith Formation Training to practical use right away by participating within the host congregation’s worship service. By choosing to offer the training through to Sunday, this also gave members of Kamloops United Church some great exposure to the wonderful ministry to families, youth and children, our KO Presbytery Camps provide. For Camp Leaders unaccustomed to attending Sunday services, feedback included: “I never knew church could be as fun and meaningful as camp.” Thank you again, KUC, from the Kamloops-Okanagan Presbytery Outdoor Ministries Working Unit.
