Have you ever wondered about that last week of Jesus’ life? What was going on in Jerusalem that week? 1st United Church in Kelowna has invited pre-eminent scholar and theologian, Marcus Borg, to give 4 lectures, March 30 (7 pm) and March 31 (9 am, 11 am and 1;30 pm). Since this is the weekend of Palm Sunday, he will speak primarily on the last week of Jesus’ life, but will touch on emerging theological understandings of our time. The lectures are intended for lay people and will be at a level easily understool by all. What a fabulous opportunity with Marcus Borg in our Presbytery! Cost of the lectures (no matter how many you attend) is $50 – incredibly inexpensive to hear a man of his caliber. 1st UC has arranged special rates at the downtown Accent Inn – $79 for single, $89 for double for those staying overnight.
